Following the first presidential debate between President Trump and democratic nominee Biden, Trump was being attacked for not denouncing white supremacy. Fact is, he’s done so multiple times and it makes me wonder how many times he will be asked to do so. The Charlottesville lie still gets repeated to this day and Trump has made multiple statements that racism, hate groups, bigotry, anti-semitism, white supremacy and other hateful ideas are not welcome in the US. Though all his efforts to put forward his message of unity, the media ostensibly does not want to report on this, but knowingly doubles down on the lie that Trump is a racist.

Some people may watch the debate between Trump and Biden and see a sh*t show, but people are looking for the wrong things. Both parties should be held to the same standards, but they are clearly not. How is it that Trump should denounce white supremacy (when in fact he has done so multiple times) and that Biden isn’t asked to denounce Antifa? Why is it that Trump then has to confront Biden with Antifa being behind the riots? How can you call Antifa ‘an idea’? How can you defend something like Antifa when they are almost fully responsible (next to BLM) for the riots and looting in these torn up cities?
If you think the response of democrats and other Trump haters is justified because ‘Trump is dividing the country’, then you might want to follow him more intensely. He unified the people on Thanksgiving Day, on Independence Day and on his fight against harmful ideologies that cause division on the workplace: “In the face of lies meant to divide us, demoralize us, and diminish us, we will show that the story of America unites us, inspires us, includes us all, and makes everyone free.” Seems to me these are the words of a president who wants a unified country. Maybe the ones who actually spew hate, commit crimes and who are out rioting in the streets destroying their communities are the ones who are dividing the country.
